New Trailer For Jason Bateman's Ozark. Netflix’s Ozark just released a new America- themed teaser to promote the dark new drama. In Ozark, Jason Bateman plays Marty Byrde, a seemingly normal financial advisor who secretly handles money for the second- largest drug cartel in Mexico. Marty, his wife Wendy (Laura Linney), and their two teenage kids Charlotte (Sofia Hublitz) and Jonah (Skylar Gaertner) eventually have to flee to the Lake of the Ozarks to hide from what appears to be a large, diverse group of enemies. The first teaser trailer for Ozark revealed a relentlessly ominous series marked by bloodshed and treachery, with the Byrde family’s escape to the Ozarks at the center of the conflict. The Fourth of July wouldn’t necessarily be a typical time to promote a new show — but the “death” of the American Dream appears to be one of Ozark’s themes, so Netflix decided to release a new “Holiday Teaser”. Set to an uncommonly somber choral version of “America the Beautiful”, the new teaser for Ozark was released by Netflix on Monday.

You can watch it above. The teaser gradually reveals the tagline “This summer, discover your last resort”, while splicing together various clips from the upcoming premiere season. Some slow- motion shots of the Byrde family enjoying themselves suddenly flip to clips of the various dangers that Marty and his family face as they try to disappear. The teaser juxtaposes a shot of Marty lying near a sprinkler while playing with his kids with a shot of Marty lying on the ground as he hides from potential danger. There’s a new look at the man who is (probably) thrown off a building in the first teaser, a glimpse at Wendy cleaning up an apparent violent crime scene, and a quick look at Marty looking generally distressed. The video strongly emphasizes the dark tone of the series, even during the “happy” parts in the beginning.

The teaser is certainly a timely one. Netflix utilizes “America the Beautiful” well to promote Ozark ahead of the Fourth of July while compiling some of the show’s most striking imagery. Watch Freezer Online Full Movie. The Byrde family’s “last resort” is a major theme of the show’s promotion and their desperation could make for some seriously suspenseful, compelling drama. Of course, it’s hard to tell just how good a show is going to be based on two brief teasers.

Ozark looks intriguing in terms of visuals and acting and has a unique premise, but it still needs to tell a coherent story with compelling characters to really work.
